parenthetical. what would sr say about the use of parenthesies?

three senior moments: let's change that name!

 1. i purchased a kobo ebook, it was only 99 cents. i sat there for a full 60 seconds wondering how much the delivery would cost....

2. couldn't remember the word plagiarized: substituted purloined. thought it made a nice poetic variation!

3. two hours ago i took a large bowl out of the fridge. it was clean, having been catching melt-water from a defrost. i set it on the counter while i restarted the fridge. i returned to the kitchen just now and asked, "does anyone know where this large bowl came from?".

perhaps we miss rituals. earth and season and birth and death. we are missing our usual rituals because of social distancing, but also perhaps we neglect to celebrate some of life's passages that we should celebrate.

perhaps we are not mindful enough as we perform the rituals we do celebrate.

at eight indre gets jokes. she is quick too, to get the pun or punch-line. robin doesn't get them yet. but he likes to make up jokes in imitation of ours and thinks his punch-lines are hilarious! he knows the knock knock joke format but hasn't any idea how it really works!

  1. I like your reflection on ritual. What place do rituals have in this busy world? Rituals are important for so many reasons, from the little daily ones to the more significant celebrations. Mindfulness, too, is oftentimes absent—especially in this day of cellphones and social media.
