200624 gloves apron coincidence tank lid bath

wednesday, june 24

for covid protection we could be wearing those old-fashioned gloves that women (and girls) wore to church when i was a child. once worn they could be popped (carefully) into a bag to be washed. i gave all but one pair to my children. (sad face)

in fashion news: i have seen two women in apron dresses and some frill-edged 50's aprons for sale in a card shop. am i observing a current trend in street-wear, or am i predicting a trend? i did get the idea from the card shop aprons, they were so cute, and plain enough to wear with any outfit. but were they thinking kitchen? or out-and-about?

there is a blustery wind today, tossing the trees. sun and cloud and sun...

on sunday i said, "maybe we need a second picnic table while i am using ours for my mosaic, a joke mostly. on monday i wanted to find something to mosaic with some of the leftover fish china. this morning i found a big fiberglass outdoor table put out to the curb just a few doors away. as we were bringing it home on the car i noticed a toilet out for the garbage. no, i didn't bring the toilet home, just the tank lid: to mosaic! coincidence, synchronicity. it happens so often that it's like a pattern being woven, when the same word or thing or person turns up twice in a short space of time.

tank lids are fun to mosaic, because they are easy to do, functional and they can be custom-mosaicked to match the decor and even have a container or two for glasses or soap.

on the subject of bathrooms, tamar uses our downstairs one in which i glued a little ceramic bathtub to a raised brick by the wall, when i renovated. i never thought of her liking it but she does! she says she jokes about her 2.1 piece bathroom! i am so jazzed to learn that!
